All initial and introductory meetings are offered free of charge - we will bear the cost of these. At Muir Consultancy, we believe in the value of lasting relationships, and initial 'no commitment' meetings are valuable in helping each party get to know the other, and in deciding if the two are a good fit to work together. During this initial meeting we will make you aware of how you may choose to pay for our services should you decide to become a client of the practice.
We usually charge a fee for our services and this can be paid directly by you or in some cases this can be paid directly from your investments. For some products, such as Protection and Life Assurance arrangements, the product provider may pay a commission for the successful placement of business. The commission is included within the provider's normal product charges. Where we agree a fee will be charged, we will advise you of this in advance.
Fees may be subject to VAT and we will advise you whether or not this is the case. Under current legislation commissions do not attract VAT.
Whether we take our remuneration by way of commission or fees will be a matter of discussion between us followed up with a written agreement, no charges for fees will be made without prior notification.
